This project included the addition of structural steel framing on top of the roof of an existing post-tensioned concrete parking structure. This project is located in a high seismic zone so there were special detailing and calculations requirements that were required. Our principal John Elder was responsible for engineering the new structure including both the gravity and lateral systems. He also was responsible for checking the existing structure for the new structure that added to the roof as well as for creating the drawings and details that were submitted for building permits.
