United Structural Design at Phoenix ACE Program

United Structural Design sponsored last week’s ACE session at Metro Tech High School in Phoenix, Arizona. Ben Crellin P.E., Principal Engineer at United, presented on the topic of Structural Design while students enjoyed burritos from the PHX Burrito House. After the presentation students chose either a steel, concrete, or wood structural system for their project and then laid out column locations and framing with the help of the mentors in attendance.
The ACE name stands for Architecture, Construction and Engineering. The ACE program helps to mentor high school students and inspires them to pursue careers in design and construction.
